Our First Goodbyes

We knew this was going to be a difficult day, as it was the last day for us in our own home in North Wales, surrounded by my family and most of our good friends from the neighbourhood!  After a superb meal the night before, followed by another excellent 'going-away' house party at James and Emma's, we got to bed about 4am, so woke with yet another hang-over at about 8:30am!  Still plenty to do sorting out the packing and taking the final few bits to the Skip, before Sunday dinner at my Mum's which was just what we needed, so thanks Mum!

Sorted the last few bits out, loading the car, passing on the house keys to Sue and Carl who will be managing our property for us and putting the last few boxes into our neighbours lofts.  Thanks guys!!

Then it was time to leave!  At approx' 9pm, my Mum, Steve, Grandad and most of our neighbours were out to wave us off and say they're farewells to us.  We were touched that they all wanted to see us off, but also a little concerned in case they just wanted to make sure we were definitely going!!  Everyone wished us good luck and told us how they would miss us, but hopefully they'll be able to visit us soon.  Things got a little bit emotional and even I had a tear in my eye, which is saying something!  We set off down the street, fully loaded with Domino and all the luggage with a mad blasting of the horn waving frantically out the windows as we went!!

We will be spending the next few days with Sophie's Mum in Somerset, before we fly out on Thursday!
